WHILE recognising it is a humane act of generosity that motivates the decision to allow 3.8 million EU migrants, plus their grandparents, siblings, children and partners, to live permanently in the UK after Brexit, it beggars belief that this measure is not part of a negotiated settlement for reciprocity. The EU has failed to offer any sort of deal for the estimated 1.5 million UK nationals who live or work in the EU. I am shocked that the Government will not take measures to deny the right of permanent residence to those with a serious criminal past.
