SIGHT tests. According to recent research, fading vision may hasten a decline in mental sharpness.

Researcher­s from the University of Miami in the U.S. believe poor eyesight may reduce the amount of informatio­n being fed into the brain and this lack of stimulatio­n may hasten a mental decline.

Similar findings have been made for hearing loss.

Yet many people say they are too busy (or, I suspect, too unwilling) to attend a sight or hearing test.

This research shows that those who choose to put their head in the sand about such issues may live to regret it in more ways than one.
