Boris 6, Corbyn 0! What was the BBC thinking?

THE BBC did not cover the Mail’s story about Jeremy Corbyn’s attendance at a tribute to terrorists until yesterday afternoon – but extensively covered Boris Johnson’s week-old burka comments.

The news website was running six stories about Mr Johnson on its politics homepage yesterday afternoon, but not one about Mr Corbyn. Over the weekend its flagship news programmes referred to it only in the newspaper front page round-ups. It was briefly covered near the end of Radio 4’s PM show yesterday but not on the News at Six. It first appeared online at 6pm following requests for comment from the Mail.

The BBC later made the story the second on its news website, upgrading it to the lead after an intervention by the Israeli prime minister. The BBC said it covers ‘every story on its merit and have reported Mr Corbyn’s interview today’.
