Does Gordon’s new head chef look familiar to you?
WITH his furrowed brow, slicked-back hair and square chin, there is no denying George Lyon bears a striking resemblance to Gordon Ramsay.
So perhaps it’s not surprising that the celebrity chef has taken on the 26-year-old as his protege.
The similarity is so uncanny that Mr Lyon’s mother, Pauline, says it is a running joke that she must have had a fling with Ramsay. And Ramsay, 51, has tweeted a picture of the pair with the caption ‘spot the difference’. Mr Lyon, who previously revealed he was asked to cook Christmas lunch for Ramsay, his family and their guests David and Victoria Beckham, now works for his mentor at the Savoy Grill in London.
He says Ramsay is very different from his foul-mouthed his TV persona. ‘No one would want to work for him if he was like that,’ he told Essential Surrey. ‘In reality he has an amazing character.
‘He’s very extroverted in the kitchen though – there’s definitely a presence when he’s in.’
