Yorkshire back steward

HEADINGLEY’S confrontational stewards are hardly noted for their charm, far from it. Yet Yorkshire are fully supporting their employee who refused entry to a season-ticket holder, who was taking his son, also a season-ticket holder, and two friends to last week’s T20 Roses match as a 13th birthday present. Yorkshire insist he was ‘rude and ill mannered’ to the steward.

Whatever the rights and wrongs, you would think that Yorkshire would at least offer the kids who missed out on a birthday outing and a birthday greeting on the big screen through no fault of their own another chance to watch the county.

SKY Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, having been subject to a tirade of personal abuse on Twitter, responded by calling one of his social media trolls a ‘specialist in nonces’. Solhekol has been reminded about his responsibilities by his employers and told not to get involved whatever the social media provocation.
