BE SENSIBLE ABOUT TECH

-

I’VE said it before and I’ll say it again — technology is wonderful, but it is no replacement for a doctor, or for common sense.

Yet every so often, along comes a new app or gadget and people presume it must be better than what went before it.

Take the birth control apps that help women plan when they may be fertile by tracking their temperature every day. They sound wonderful, and I’m sure in many ways they are, but the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists says more research is needed due to reports of unwanted pregnancies.

My advice is don’t let an app override common sense, no matter how good it sounds.
