IT’S A WORLD OF PAIN FOR BAIRSTOW
THIS was the moment Jonny Bairstow’s day at the Test ended in agony. The England wicketkeeper was struck on the end of his left middle finger when Cheteshwar Pujara left a ball from Jimmy Anderson that swung late after it had passed the batsman. Bairstow collapsed to the floor, his face contorted in pain. The 28-year-old left Trent Bridge for an X-ray, which revealed what England described as a ‘small’ fracture. Jos Buttler took the gloves for the remaining 66 overs of f India’s India s innings.
