Blue sky thinking!

-

SUMMER is still in full swing, spreading a banner of holiday fun across the nation.

But if you’re feeling a bit left out of the beach party, there’s still time to find a last-minute break and enjoy the warmer temperatures while they last.

British holidays are booming as the nation basks in one of the driest summers in years, with sunny spells set to continue into September.

The whole place looks better under blue skies. So it’s no wonder many of us look for a break near home whenever the sun is smiling down.

This year’s staycation figures look set to soar even higher than 2017’s, when VisitBritain says we took more than 59 million UK breaks.

Last-minute getaways now make up the bulk of bookings, with 78 per cent now secured less than 12 weeks ahead. That means there’s still availability if you look.

So why risk feeling peeved that you haven’t soaked up a full share of the spirit-lifting sunshine? Summer’s still rocking, with the mercury set to remain in the 20s for a while yet.

Enjoy the warm rays and make the most of the season’s air shows, food festivals and balmy beach strolls before the slide into autumn begins.
