One more win for Son to avoid national service!

SON HEUNG-MIN is one victory away from being exempt from military service after South Korea beat Vietnam 3-1 in the asian Games semi-finals yesterday. The Koreans progressed thanks to Lee Seung-woo’s double and a Hwang ui-jo strike. They will face Japan in Saturday’s final. Tottenham’s Son provided the assist for the second goal and he will be able to avoid mandatory military service if South Korea win the competitio­n. all able-bodied South Korean men must complete 21 months’ service in the military but exemptions are offered to athletes who win gold at the asian Games or any medal at the Olympics.
