The smart set’s talking about ... David Bowie’s arty girl

-

TWO years after David Bowie’s death, his daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, is on course to become a name in her own right.

Known as Lexi, the 18-yearold has just left school in the U.S. and hopes to turn her passion for art into a career.

She has set up the social media account Unsettling Art as a showcase for her work and it features satirical illustrations that she’s ‘not selling just yet but will be soon’. Lexi, whose mother is Bowie’s supermodel widow Iman, shares her pop star father’s quirky style.

Not only does she have a nose piercing, but to mark the second anniversary of the singer’s death in January she got a tattoo of a crescent moon wrapped around the words: ‘Daddy xx 1947-2016.’

Poignantly, she has fallen head over heels in love with a musician: Tristan Beltrami, the son of film composer Marco whose score for The Hurt Locker was nominated for an Oscar.

Lexi is well-connected to the London social scene and last month her close friend Naomi Campbell posted a happy birthday message to her on social media.

When Lexi was born in 2000 it was said she helped Bowie put his workaholic tendencies ‘into perspective’ and give him the will to stay healthy after his first heart attack.
