Robbie’s new baby from a surrogate mother
ROBBIE Williams and Ayda Field have revealed they have had a baby girl through a surrogate.
The couple, who have two other children, said it had been a ‘long and difficult path’ to have their third, Colette.
They added they would be ‘eternally grateful’ to the ‘incredible surrogate mother’ who carried their daughter, who is ‘biologically ours’.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of the five family members’ hands on social media, Miss Field, 39, said she and her husband had been ‘keeping a very special secret’. She wrote on Instagram: ‘It has been a very long and difficult path to get here, which is why we have kept it on the down low.’
Miss Field, a judge on The X Factor with her husband, added: ‘Family comes in all forms, and this little lady, who is biologically ours, was carried by an incredible surrogate mother, to whom we will be eternally grateful.
‘We are over the moon to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives and so blessed that we live in a world which makes this possible.’
It is not clear why the couple decided to have Colette, who will be known as Coco, via a surrogate but Williams has previously revealed he had his sperm cryogenically frozen because of low testosterone levels. Last year the 44-year-old singer said he did not want a third child, despite feeling guilty for ‘crushing Ayda’s hopes’ of expanding their family.
The couple have been married for eight years. Their other children are Theodora, five, and Charlton, three.
