IF YOU have ever felt hard done by for not inheriting a fortune, this terrific ten-part U.S. drama should make you feel a whole lot better. Inspired by actual events, it tells the story of the notorious 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III (Harris Dickinson), the teenage grandson of billionaire J. Paul Getty (a deliciously acidic Donald Sutherland, pictured far right with Dickinson), who, despite being one of the world’s richest men, refused to pay the ransom. Also starring Hilary Swank, Brendan Fraser and Anna Chancellor, the first episode lifts the lid on one of the most dysfunctional family sagas imaginable.
