Hurricane lifts oil

-

OIL rose towards its highest price for nearly four years last night as a hurricane surged towards the US.

Traders fret that category three storm Florence will cause huge damage when it hits North and South Carolina tomorrow, disrupting supplies through a vital pipeline. With winds of 125 miles per hour expected, Brent crude rose above $80 a barrel as motorists rushed to fill tanks.

President Donald Trump said: ‘They say it’s about as big as they’ve seen coming to this country, and certainly to the east coast. Get out of its way. Don’t play games with it.’
