Swedish PM forced out
SWEDEN’S prime minister will step down after losing a confidence vote.
Politicians voted 204 to 142 yesterday to remove Stefan Lofven, the leader of the centre-left Social Democratic Party.
It followed elections this month in which the far-Right won 17.5 per cent of the vote, leading to a hung parliament.
Mr Lofven will remain in the post until a new government can be formed.
Parliamentary speaker Andreas Norlen is now responsible for finding a legislator able to command a majority.
