Blackmailing boy told her: Sleep with me too or I’ll tell
ELEANOR Wilson’s relationship with the 16-year-old unravelled when another pupil threatened to reveal the affair unless she had sex with him, the court heard.
In February 2016, Wilson received an email which read: ‘I know about you and [the boy]. Wouldn’t want that coming out, would we. I have a deal, reply if you’re interested. Yours, anonymous.’ The pupil also attached a picture of his genitals.
Rather than immediately reporting the emails to the headteacher, Wilson spent two days replying to the sender.
She initially responded: ‘I’m not sure what this is regarding. I think you have the wrong person’s contact details.’ The sender replied: ‘You know what I’m on about, you had sex with [the boy]... I’m just saying a note with that info attached might slip under the headteacher’s door.’ Wilson wrote back: ‘Oh, you’re a bored student. I definitely did not, what a ridiculous accusation... I will report this for harassment.’
The student replied: ‘You have one option, or I tell someone.’
Wilson emailed: ‘What’s the option? Although I have nothing to hide, I just want to get on with my work.’ The student said: ‘The option is for you to have a sexual relationship and sleep with me... I can do it any time, anywhere.’
The physics teacher replied: ‘Look, it’s not happening, it’s entirely inappropriate.’
The 15 emails were eventually brought to the attention of the school’s headteacher and the messages were traced to a pupil, who was removed from the school. They triggered an investigation which led to Wilson being dismissed in May 2016.
