Uh-oh Bojo! Lover Petronella to tell all in biography

-

CRIPES! There’s another headache on the way for Boris Johnson, who admitted last month that his long-suffering wife, Marina Wheeler, was finally divorcing him.

Now, one of Boris’s ex-lovers, Petronella Wyatt, tells me that she’s writing her memoirs. Petsy, who became pregnant twice during a four-year affair with the priapic former Foreign Secretary, is seeking a publisher.

Keen not to cause BoJo too much anguish, the daughter of colourful late Labour grandee Woodrow Wyatt says she wants to focus on her gilded youth.

‘I want to publish a memoir,’ she tells me at a party in St James’s, London. ‘I had a fascinating childhood with all sorts of distinguished people visiting our home — politicians, writers.

‘I remember my father leaving me with Margaret Thatcher and I was terrified. She asked me: “Who is your favourite politician?” I didn’t know what to say.’

Bow tie-wearing Lord Wyatt was chairman of the Tote and became a confidant of the Iron Lady and the Queen Mother.

While Petsy, 50, may prefer to concentrate on her childhood, publishers would no doubt want her to detail her relationship with Boris, 54. Newspapers revealed in 2004 that the pair had begun an affair when he was editor of The Spectator magazine and she was his deputy. Boris promised her he would leave his wife, with whom he has four children.

Petsy later told how he once ‘grumbled’ to her: ‘I find it genuinely

unreasonable that men should be confined to one woman.’ She attributed this in part to Boris being ‘inordinately proud of his Turkish ancestry’, and said that his ‘ views on matters such as monogamy are decidedly Eastern’.

She terminated one of her pregnancies while the other ended with a miscarriage.

The affair cost Boris his job as shadow arts minister and Conservative Party vice- chairman after his claims that reports of his infidelity with Petronella were ‘ an inverted pyramid of piffle’ proved to be a lie.
