Eugenie, super slender bride who’s always been a little princess

- By Rebecca English Royal Correspondent

LIKE all brides, royal or not, Princess Eugenie wants to look her best on her big day.

So the Queen’s granddaughter has thrown herself into an intensive diet and exercise regime ahead of her marriage to Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle on Friday.

And it appears as though all the hard work has paid off. Eugenie, Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter, stepped out in London this week showing off her trim figure in an eye-catching purple coat dress.

The 28-year- old looked as if she had recently had a spray tan and her hair lowlighted with a reddish hue. It certainly marks a transformation from her younger days, as newly released photographs reveal.

Cute portraits of Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank as children were put out by Buckingham Palace yesterday. They show the pair with sweet, almost identical toothy grins as each posed for their parents.

Another candid photograph captures the couple as they celebrated last New Year in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier. Eugenie wears blue shoulder-length earrings and pillarbox red lipstick in a happy pose taken less than three weeks before they announced their engagement.

Buckingham Palace, which tweeted the pictures last night, said: ‘Ahead of their special day, Princess Eugenie, Mr Jack Brooksbank and their families have today shared a selection of photographs – including these images of the couple as children.’

Eugenie has been dating Stoweeducated Mr Brooksbank, 31, for seven years since they met on a ski holiday. The couple live in a cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace close to her cousin, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan.

They will marry at St George’s Chapel surrounded by family, friends – and celebrities including George and Amal Clooney. Mr Brooksbank is a brand ambassador for Clooney’s Casamigos tequila label.

Eugenie has reportedly recruited nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, the diet guru who helped Prince Harry trim down for his wedding.

Miss Peacock sells a range of powders, with names such as Slim Me, that cost £100 for a month’s supply. Eugenie has also been running and hitting the gym almost daily, according to sources.

While Harry and Meghan had glorious sunshine for their wedding in May, Eugenie’s nuptials are likely to be amid rather gloomy conditions.

Despite the Indian summer this week, with temperatures in the South due to hit 24C (75F) today, Friday will be cloudy and cooler.

Well-wishers watching the bride and groom’s carriage procession through Windsor might even need an extra layer as temperatures are likely to reach only 17C (63F), with a mere 20 per cent chance of sunshine.
