Airman Corrie did die in bin, says his father
THE father of missing airman Corrie McKeague is convinced his son is ‘gone’ forever in the waste disposal system after police presented new evidence.
Data collected by waste management firm Biffa showed an unusually high load was collected from industrial bins outside a bakery near RAF Honington in Suffolk where the airman was last seen in September 2016. Confirmation that around 100kg more than usual was collected meant there was ‘no other reasonable explanation’ for the disappearance, according to officers.
A search of a landfill site yielded no trace of Mr McKeague – who is believed to have climbed into a bin to sleep after a drunken night out.
His father Martin wrote on Facebook that the family in Scotland would be holding a private memorial. He said: ‘The police have confirmed the Biffa bin weight that suggests my son ended up in the Suffolk waste disposal system. My son is gone.’
