IN 1976, Derbyshire farmer Fred Handford disappeared without trace. More than 30 years later, his ex-business partner Janet Holt made a shocking confession, claiming that she shot Fred and buried him on the farm — ‘I’ve a memory of tipping him off the barrow into the hole’. Now 68, Janet insists that these are the facts (‘I shot him; I was glad that he was dead’) but, with no body ever found despite an extensive search, and no other evidence to link Janet to Fred’s death, the police disagree. In this fascinating film, Janet (pictured) reveals what led her to make her dramatic claim. But is she telling the truth?
