JAMIE Redknapp
COVENTRY....5 LIVERPOOL...1 PREMIER LEAGUE, DECEMBER 1992
I scored a great free-kick to make it 3-1, giving us a chance of a comeback, then I got sent off for a second yellow. I remember sitting in the away dressing room and could hear some cheers. All I was thinking was, ‘Please tell me that means the lads got us back into the game’. They didn’t. We wound up conceding two more goals and I thought manager Graeme Souness would slaughter me. Instead, he came in and told the rest of the squad he wished they had shown the same desire as me! He figured I at least showed some fight. Still, that was a horrible day. At the time, Coventry had not won any of their last 11 leagues games, then they stuff us with Micky Quinn scoring two of their five.
