SSARAH PHELPS, who has penned the BBC’s Christmas Christies since 2015’s And Then There Were None, is also the writer o of this new series b based on Tana F French’s Dublin Murder M d Squad S books. It’s a compelling affair that later splinters into multiple timelines, but starts as detectives Maddox and Reilly (Sarah Greene and Killian Scott, pictured) investigate when a dead girl is found on an altar. Some comic relief comes from Game Of Thrones’s Conleth Hill as ranting boss O’Kelly, but this is mostly a dark, finely weaved tapestry that demands close attention. Continues tomorrow.
