The art of fatherhood is a joy for Jay

IT’S BEEN a bumper year for the Jopling family. Just months after Old Etonian art dealer Caspar married pop star Ellie Goulding, his uncle, gallerist Jay Jopling, has become a father again at 56.

His fiancee, glamorous art curator Hikari Yokoyama (right with Jay), has given birth to their first child, Djuna Mei Jopling. ‘Caught in a whirlwind of indescribable overwhelming love,’ says Hikari, 38. ‘Life changed for ever upon seeing her perfect little face looking into mine.’

Jay, whose trendy White Cube gallery in London made stars of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, has two other daughters with film director Sam Taylor- Johnson.

GERI HORNER’S husband, Red Bull racing team boss Christian Horner, is fearful of bringing up his children in London due to high crime rates. The 46-yearold, who splits his time between London and Oxfordshire, has a twoyear-old son, Monty, with the former Spice Girl, as well as a six-year-old, Olivia, from his first marriage. ‘The crime in London is worrying,’ he tells me. ‘It’s healthier for children being in the countryside. It’s safer for them there.’
