This heady mix of female jealousy and paranoia, with a touch of single white female terror, is going to be your new Tuesday night drama fix. Morven Christie is Ellen, a top architect who discovers she’s pregnant moments after scoring a £12.2million contract and a big promotion. Right from the off, the struggle of mothers in the workplace is under the microscope. Ellen is worried her bosses will think less of her and is determined to shrug it off with declarations that she’ll be back in the office in no time. “You’re irreplaceable,” says a colleague. But in walks her maternity cover, the too-good-tobe-true Paula (Line of Duty’s Vicky Mcclure). She seems perfect, but Ellen is suspicious that she has an agenda. Paula’s overly interested in her pregnancy for starters. Then she moves in on Ellen’s bosses, clients and friends. And an accident at work raises the red flag. So instead of rushing off to Mothercare, Ellen tries to voice her concerns – but no one hears the ravings of a pregnant woman.
