Hunt blasted on 708,000 lost records
JEREMY Hunt has been accused of a cover-up after admitting 708,000 NHS medical records were lost. The Health Secretary said the confidential files went into storage between 2011 and 2016 and have now mostly been recovered. Mr Hunt was aware of losses last March but only told MPS in July. And only when called to the Commons yesterday did he reveal the extent of the scandal. Shadow Health Secretary Jon Ashworth said patients deserved an apology for the “catastrophic breach of data protection” and Mr Hunt “stands accused of a cover-up”.
