JOHN Mcdonnell was forced to row back after claiming Jeremy Corbyn is a victim of a “soft coup”. The Shadow Chancellor said the attempted putsch was “planned, co-ordinated and fully resourced” by forces “intent on destroying Jeremy Corbyn and all that he stands for”. He sounded the alert on the Labour Briefing website after ex-leader Tony Blair’s attack over Brexit.
