Sakho out for rest of the season

-

WEST HAM striker Diafra Sakho is unlikely to play again this season. The Senegal international has been sidelined with a back injury since November, which required surgery. Sakho has now returned to light training, but West Ham medics say he will need a lengthy period of building up his fitness. A potential £15million summer move to West Brom fell through because of a back problem. And he missed the first three months of the season prior to managing just two appearances – and one goal in the 1-1 draw at Manchester United – before succumbing to the ailment. The Hammers also have midfielder Pedro Obiang ruled out for the season, following an ankle injury suffered against Leicester last weekend. To add to the Hammers’ woes, defender Winston Reid will be out for five weeks after picking up a calf problem in the same game, which also saw winger Michail Antonio suffer a hamstring injury that forced him to withdraw from the England squad and will sideline him for three to four weeks.
