Has the Doctor met her maths?

-

As Doctor Who, Jodie Whittaker is going to have to get her head around all of space and time. No mean feat.

And it could prove a bit of a challenge for the actress – who struggled at school and only got her maths GCSE at the third attempt. In an interview earlier this month, the 35-year-old admitted: “I wasn’t academic at school. I failed my maths GCSE twice and only got five GCSES above a D.”

The Time Lord is supposed to have a doctorate in medicine, earned at some point in the 1880s at the University of Glasgow, which has been referenced several times in the programmes by different Doctors.

And recent Tardis-dwellers have been educated to university level. Peter Capaldi has a design degree from the Glasgow School of Art and Matt Smith has 9 GCSES, 4 A levels (including psychology and drama) and a degree from the University of East Anglia.

Capaldi’s final episode of Doctor Who this Christmas will feature Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts and it will be called Twice Upon a Time.

I quite hate my legs, which have never been long enough. Never been a fan of my stomach, which continues to expand. And my hair has never looked cool. Angus Deayton is not body-confident
