£45k payout in dentist row

A MAN who may lose all his teeth after a dentist failed to spot his severe gum disease for 15 years has won a £45,000 payout.

Michael Green suffers stage-four periodontal disease and needs regular, painful deep cleans. He said: “I’m self-conscious when I smile and try not to show my teeth.”

Dr Christopher Mortimer, who did his check-ups in Leicester from 1996 to 2011, did not admit liability as the case was settled out of court.
