We’re all set to go Mod for Vespa party
BELFAST has been chosen to host the world’s biggest gathering of motor scooter enthusiasts next summer.
The annual Vespa World Days extravaganza, which started in 1954, celebrates the special mod culture and heritage of the iconic scooter brand.
It will take place in the Titanic Quarter over the weekend of June 14 to 17.
Up to 5,000 owners from 40 different countries are expected to hit the city – injecting a £7.7million economic boost as they fill up hotels.
Lord Mayor of Belfast councillor Nuala Mcallister said: “We’re delighted to be named host city.
“I congratulate the Ulster Vespa Club for their successful bid to host the event.”
