City Hall will light for tots after U-turn
BELFAST City Hall will be lit up on Sunday as a touching tribute to baby loss – after a change of heart by the council.
Grieving mum Laura Kelly said her requests for pink and blue lighting to honour tragic tots had been declined.
But staff at Belfast City Council confirmed a U-turn given strong public feeling over the issue.
A spokesman said: “The City Hall will be lit from dusk to midnight on October 15 as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week.”
The 30-year-old was originally told it did not meet council criteria.
Ms Kelly, from North Belfast, wanted to honour premature son Cormac who died in May after a seven-day fight for life.
