Dawn: TV special is coming... only our script hasn’t

French and Saunders are back on the BBC this Christmas – but admit they haven’t got round to writing it yet.

The duo will celebrate 30 years since their first sketch show with a special featuring some of their favourite old clips wrapped around with some freshly written material.

Dawn, right, joked they had been given a budget of “two pence” and added: “I’ll be surprised if we’ve written it by the time we’re filming it because that’s not the way French and Saunders work.”

She added: “We’re going to do it in front of an audience so that’s going to be fun. It’s a celebration of 30 years of us together.” Dawn, who has just released her book called Me. You. A Diary, celebrated her 60th birthday this week.
