Paddington is back for final big adventure
THE last Paddington Bear book is being published, set in the cathedral where author Michael Bond will be honoured next week.
Bond, who died in June, aged 91, was inspired to write Paddington at St Paul’s at a service to mark The Queen’s 90th birthday.
In the book, chaos ensues when the bear is mistaken for a choirboy.
The publication comes days before a memorial service to Bond at St Paul’s in Central London.
Bond’s daughter, Karen Jankel, said: “The fact that this is the setting for his final story makes it very special indeed.”
Ann-janine Murtagh, of Harpercollins, said the book was “Michael’s parting gift to all his fans – brimming with curiosity, charm and exuberance”.
