Man de­nies ‘stab at­tack mur­der bid’

A MAN was stabbed re­peat­edly in an at­tempted mur­der at a house, a court heard yes­ter­day.

The vic­tim, in his 20s, needed 30 stitches on his head and body fol­low­ing the al­leged at­tack off South Belfast’s Raven­hill Road.

Liam Clarke, 23, from with an ad­dress at Ar­doyne Road in the north of the city de­nies at­tempted mur­der.

He claimed he was at­tacked by peo­ple who called to the house at Bal­ly­nafoy Close on Tues­day.

Ap­pear­ing be­fore Belfast Mag­is­trates’ Court, Clarke spoke only to con­firm he un­der­stood the charges.

Dis­trict Judge Brod­er­ick re­manded Clarke in cus­tody to ap­pear by video-link on De­cem­ber 7.
