Put faith in Warrior

Daily Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - SPORT -

THE Michael Halfordtrained Platinum Warrior, pipped by The Kid Bobby B at Dundalk on his second start, looks the banker bet in tonight’s one-mile maiden for two-year-olds in Dundalk.

That near miss five weeks ago followed a pleasing debut effort in a hot Curragh maiden, won by subsequent listed winner Gobi Desert. And the fact the Galileo colt was found to be lame after his more recent run suggests there’s more to come.

Successful three times here last winter, with a career high winning-mark 17lb higher than his current rating, the Damien Englishtrained Red Avenger appeals in tonight’s 7.00.

He didn’t enjoy the best of luck when a close fourth behind two of tonight’s rivals, Secret Wizard and Tonkinese, he must have a big each-way shout tonight.
