Gat dozen fear this Aussie side

Daily Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - SPORT - BY ALEX BYWATER

WARREN GATLAND celebrated his 10-year anniversary as Wales boss yesterday.

And the Kiwi boss marked the moment by naming a new-look Dragons side to take on Australia tomorrow.

Owen Williams, Steffan Evans, Josh Navidi and Aaron Shingler are fresh faces in Gatland’s team as he looks to end a run of 12 straight defeats against the Wallabies.

“It has been exciting and challenging and we have had our ups and downs in that 10-year period,”

Gatland said. “Now we’re going to change the way we play a little bit.

“This team is a reward for some players. Aaron has proved himself over the last year and Owen has a pretty good record at centre. For us the result is always important, we want to win every game.”

Wales have not beaten Australia since 2008.

Williams and fly-half Dan Biggar are the playmakers charged with changing that record but Michael Cheika’s southern hemisphere giants are firm favourites.

Sam Warburton, Rhys Webb and Justin Tipuric are ruled out by injury.
