Pub discount for no phones

A PUB chain is giving diners 10% off if they hand in phones while they eat.

Owners Steve, 52, and Jo Haslam, 46, were sick of seeing couples staring at their screens and now have phone-free Fridays.

Chelsea Day, manager in one of their pubs in Chelmsford, Essex, said: “In today’s society everyone is constantly on their phone so we want to get people talking again.

“It’s a fantastic idea and has made a huge difference. Customers love it.”
