Mourners remember tragic Matthew

- BY SHAUNA CORR

MOURNERS heard how a talented gardener achieved remarkable things in his blessed but short life.

His family suffered a “tragedy” when Matthew Bradley, 24, died after being hit by a car while on a stag do in Liverpool on November 3. Fr Colm Mcbride spoke of “a loving, quiet, witty and generous young man” in his homily at St Joseph’s Church in Glenavy, Co Antrim, yesterday who “was a winner” both in the garden and on the Gaelic field.

The priest said: “Like any young man of that age it was all about the future. But his 24 years is Matthew’s life.

“It has been a good life. He has been blessed in having experienced just about all the best things that it can offer.

“We celebrate and give thanks for that this morning.”
