Dad killed tot in 3 secs ‘no hands’ drive
A DAD who killed his toddler in a crash when he took his hands off the wheel for three seconds was jailed for 32 months.
Armel Houanda turned round when 20-month Amelie freed her arms from her child-seat belts.
He hit a fence and part of it hit the tot in the head.
The 39-year-old, who had failed a driving theory test four times, had taken his partner’s Audi sports car without permission.
Houanda, of Coventry, admitted causing death by dangerous driving, taking without consent and having no insurance or full licence in Wolvey, Warks.
The Warwick crown court judge banned him for nine years, calling the case “particularly tragic” and the death a “significant mitigating factor”.
