Royals’ cake idea is a bit half-baked
There’s controversy over the cake for Meghan and Harry’s wedding, with some ardent patriots asking why Californian Claire Ptak is making it. And when you consider British TV has devoted roughly four million hours over the past few years showing clever people baking cakes, they have a point.
Others are asking why Meghan has ditched the fruit cake, which is usually made for all royal weddings, in favour of a sponge. I’d like to see it as an ironic nod to the British taxpayers. An admission that now she’s a Windsor, sponging is what she’ll be doing for the rest of her life.
