Prison tutor cooks up prize
A PRISON officer has been crowned Cook of the Year for her work transforming the lives of female inmates.
Helen Boyce, who has been employed at Hydebank Wood College in South Belfast for 11 years, was named the winner at the BBC Food and Farming Awards in Bristol.
Helen was nominated by the Northern Ireland Prison Service.
She said: “I enjoy teaching prisoners new skills and working alongside the girls to provide food in the Cabin where we run a very effective catering service for all staff and prisoners.”
