TWO League One footballers were led to court in handcuffs yesterday after an alleged sex attack on a teenage holidaymaker in Ibiza.
Charlton Athletic players Reeco Hackett-fairchild and Karlan Ahearnegrant, both 20, were arrested early on Tuesday at a hotel near the party resort of San Antonio on the Spanish island.
They appeared with a third man Olusola Odejayi, 26, before a judge in Ibiza town yesterday.
Strikers Hackett-fairchild and Ahearne-grant kept their heads down and said nothing as they were led from a police car to the court building.
Last night a family friend who has known Ahearne-grant since he was 11 said she was “incredibly shocked” to hear of the players’ arrests. She said: “I’m so surprised about that. I can’t believe that. He’s a very nice boy.”
