Cooking up sup­port for ill Matthew

KINDHEARTED pri­mary school pupils have launched a celebrity cook­book in sup­port of their sick class­mate.

When Matthew Mc­k­ee­gan, 11, was di­ag­nosed with leukaemia in Fe­bru­ary, his pals in P7 at Park Lodge Pri­mary School, in North Belfast, de­cided to help.

Celebri­ties Re­ally Can Cook fea­tures con­tri­bu­tions from 60 stars in­clud­ing snow Pa­trol’s Johnny Mc­daid and his wife Courtney Cox, Ea­monn Holmes, Mickey Bradley from the Un­der­tones and AP Mccoy.

Matthew’s mum Caitri­ona, 44, said: “The school has been so sup­port­ive and it’s a lovely thing for him to feel part of it. they did a great job.”

All pro­ceeds will go to the Chil­dren’s Can­cer Unit Char­ity at Royal Vic­to­ria Hospi­tal.
