Exam ‘bomb’ boy, 17, held

A TEENAGE boy has been ar­rested af­ter a sus­pected smoke bomb was let off at a school dur­ing ex­ams.

About 20 peo­ple re­ported feel­ing un­well fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent but needed no fur­ther treat­ment from paramedics.

The 17-year-old boy was ques­tioned by po­lice.

Builth Wells High School in Powys was evac­u­ated and locked down and re­mained closed yes­ter­day.

Head Ca­trin Taylor said: “The school’s pri­or­ity is the health and well-be­ing of pupils and staff.”
