A DAD pushes his son to make a diving save at a kids football match.

Phil Hatfield, 35, shouted to six-year-old goalie Osain “come out to the ball” but the boy misheard and walked towards him.

Dad Phil is seen in mobile phone footage shoving Osain back into the goalmouth where he falls in the way of the ball – but it rebounds to a striker who slots it home.

Osain was playing his first game for Bow Street Magpies under-8s in Aberystwyth, West Wales. They lost 4-2 to Llanilar.

Dad-of-two Phil said: “His mind wanders off sometimes. I tried to get him back on the pitch but he tripped over his feet and went down. He can be a bit clumsy.”

Phil said he and wife Ffion, 34, gave him a cuddle after the incident as he was upset everyone was laughing.

But Phil said: “It hasn’t put him off – he’ll play in goal again.”
