LINDSEY’S ENDED VONN A REAL HIGH

LINDSEY VONN won bronze in the final race of her glittering career in the women’s downhill at the World Championsh­ips in Are, Sweden. The American, 34, (inset) looked set for a fairytale ending but a flawless run by Ilka Stuhec of Slovenia saw her take gold. Swiss Corinne Suter was second. Vonn, the most successful female skier of all time, said: “It was such an emotional day it was really hard to control my nerves. I was definitely the most nervous I’ve been in my entire life and all I wanted to do was finish strong.”
