LINDSEY’S ENDED VONN A REAL HIGH
LINDSEY VONN won bronze in the final race of her glittering career in the women’s downhill at the World Championships in Are, Sweden. The American, 34, (inset) looked set for a fairytale ending but a flawless run by Ilka Stuhec of Slovenia saw her take gold. Swiss Corinne Suter was second. Vonn, the most successful female skier of all time, said: “It was such an emotional day it was really hard to control my nerves. I was definitely the most nervous I’ve been in my entire life and all I wanted to do was finish strong.”
