Office Keith can’t get job as... Office Keith
THE actor who played Keith in The Office has revealed he once applied for a job to recreate the role – and didn’t get it.
Ewen Macintosh, who starred as the deadpan accountant in Ricky Ger vai s’ hit comedy, was left gobsmacked when he was turned down for the insurance ad. The 46-year-old, who played Keith in the BBC show from 2001, told the Almost Famous podcast: “My career has never been all high points.
“A thing came from Norwich Union saying they wanted a sort of Keith. My agent went, ‘I’ll put you up for it’. I went along… and I didn’t get it.
Similar things happened a couple of times.” But Ewen said the lockdown fad of celeb video messaging was paying off, with requests for him to do Keith quotes for special occasions.
“That has really, financially, got me through the pandemic,” he said.
