A poor result doesn’t necessarily make you a bad person
DR Dutton analysed a long line of high profile figures throughout history, scoring each according to their psychotic characteristics.
Each figure could be given a total of 224, with points awarded for eight different qualities.
Dr Dutton says: “We ranked them on persuasiveness, fearlessness, immunity to stress, egocentricity, rebelliousness, blaming other people, impulsiveness and cold-heartedness.”
Each one was analysed using biographies, conversations with journalists, and actors who had played many of the figures on stage and screen. But Dr Dutton’s keen to point out that, even though many of the figures he analysed ranked highly on the league table, he didn’t think most of them were ‘pure’ psychopaths.
“I think Donald Trump is high on the psychopathic spectrum, but I don’t think he’s psychopath,” he insists. “Though I would say Saddam Hussein might well have been.
“Psychopathic characteristics displayed by Trump and Clinton predispose them to power. It’s common sense. Those who don’t see it will probably be high on the spectrum themselves.” Saddam Hussein ................. 189 Henry VIII ............................... 178 Idi Amin .................................. 176 Donald Trump ....................... 171 Adolf Hitler ............................ 169 William the Conqueror ...... 165 Ted Cruz ................................. 157 Winston Churchill ................ 155 Napoleon Bonaparte ......... 153 Hillary Clinton ....................... 152 Emperor Nero ....................... 151 Bernie Sanders .................... 139
