HAMMERS ASTRA BE HOTTEST PROSPECTS

Daily Mirror - - BETTING SPY - ADDITIONAL REPORTING BY JOHN SHAW

WEST HAM have played two games at their new stadium and have won both without conceding – put it down to the Olympic feelgood factor. They have the chance tonight to book their place in the group stages of the no-hoper league when they entertain Romanian giants Astra Giurgiu although, having seen West Ham’s last few games, ‘entertain’ is stretching it.

Astra are struggling in their home league – there’s a clue how bad they are. Hammers are 1-3 to beat them – there’s another.

West Ham were knocked out by Astra at the same stage last year and I find that hard to believe – the Hammers qualified for Europe two seasons running?

Boss Slaven Bilic (above) is treating the Europa League seriously and expects us to treat him seriously. But he knows an exit tonight would be a disastra for West Ham’s financial planning and will demand a professional display from his men.

The Hammers can, and should, be backed at 10-11 to win by at least two goals.
