Kids ‘not off leash till 10’

PARENTS have grown stricter at letting children out on their own, with kidnap their biggest fear.

Mums and dads who were generally allowed out at seven forbid it in their children until girls have turned 10 and nearer to 11 for boys, a survey found.

Many finally let children loose for secondary school as youngsters do not want to travel with them.

Parenting outfit Families said: “We are certainly much more aware of the risks on our doorstep.”
