CRITICS CAN’T HURT JT
DEFIANT John Terry has hit back at criticism of his Chelsea farewell, insisting: “I couldn’t care less.”
The Blues skipper, 36, said goodbye by arranging his own substitution, 26 minutes into Sunday’s win over Sunderland.
But his exit, leaving the field to a guard of honour, was vilified by critics. Terry (left) said: “I couldn’t care less, I promise you. All I care about is celebrating with my Chelsea fans. Me and them have a wonderful rapport and have done for 22 years.
“Nothing that people write or say can ever get in the way of that. If that’s the way I want to go out, that’s the way I go out.
“I wanted to play 26 minutes because my No.26 shirt number means a lot to me.”
